In 1999 Kylie signed to Parlophone Records. 'Light Years' was released in 2000 along with the single 'Spinning Around'; the accompanying video featuring the infamous gold hotpants. The album also received major promotion when Minogue performed 'On A Night Like This' at the Sydney Olympics 2000. The album was promoted by the very successful 'On A Night Like This Tour' which saw Minogue sell out shows across Australia.
